The following are the general terms and conditions for the booking and payment procedures for the dive packages offered by Marine Monkees.

Confirming Your Intention to Purchase - Dive Package

When you decide upon your desired vacation option, then you can confirm your intention to purchase either by:

Online Web Form

You can send in your intention of purchase by filling up the Online Dive Booking web form.

You can send email to info@marinemonkees.com indicating your intention of purchase of a particular dive package

Please ensure that you send us all your details and clearly indicate which option you desire.

Booking Confirmation

When we receive your intention to purchase , we will send you an email with your Booking Notification, and instruction on how to make your full payment or your Reservation Deposit.

Reservation Deposit

A Reservation Deposit is payable by you, to guarantee your reservation. The non-refundable deposit required is 30% of the total price of your booking.

Confirmation of Reservation

As soon as we received your Confirmaed Reservation Deposit then we shall inform the operator of your reservation. As soon as it is confirmed by the operator that the reservation process is complete, we will send you Confirmation of Reservation.

How a contract is made

Please note general contract for any on-line for purchase of retail product are different from the the scuba diving vacation packages purchased through Marine Monkees.

We act as a disclosed agent for third party supplier, such as PADI centres, liveaboard operators and/or other dive operators, hotels and resorts. Therefore, we gather all information from the operators and present to you through our website. We will do our best to verify and update this information as much as is practical. Since we act as agents this means that we have no contractual liability to you in respect of the final product. However, we may still be liable to you if we have been negligent, if we have misrepresented important information or have been in breach of any other relevant law.

This means that the contract for the dive package is between you and the operator. Generally, there are additional terms and conditions governing the contract as each operator will have terms and conditions relating to their dive packages. Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions before completing your transaction with us. You can easily request them from us by emailing us at info@marinemonkees.com.

Once the payment is received, you can only cancel the diving package in accordance to our terms and conditions. It is your duty to ensure you are familiar with any cancellation charges relevant to your booking. You make your final payment of your package price (normally the remaining 70%) to be received by us more than 60 days before the commencement date. It is important to allow time for the transaction to be finalised before this 60 day requirement. We will keep you informed, by email, of the final payment amount and due date. Failure to pay your balance prior to the due date will be considered as cancellation by you within 60 days before the package commencement date and you will be subject to the terms and conditions that apply in the event of customer cancellation.

All bank transfer charges are to be paid by the sender.

Please send us a fax copy or email the scan copy of the transfer record that includes the transaction reference number.

Cancelling Your Booking

In the event that you decide to cancel your reservation 60 days or more before your package commencement date. Please inform us by sending your cancellation request by email at info@marinemonkees.com. We will proceed to return your payment less the deposit and any bank charges incurred by us.

If you cancellation comes to us less than 60 days before your package commencement date, then we reserve the right to keep any payments as compensation for potential lost bookings.

Changes to Your Booking

If you decide to change your booking after you have made your reservation, we will do our level best to accommodate your request but it may not always be possible. You should notify us as soon as possible of any changes because the sooner you do this the more likely it is that we can make the change. There will be an administration fee of US$ 100 (in addition to any changes necessary to the price of your reservation) for any booking changes which require the re-issuance of a new Reservation Completed or invoice including, but not limited to, changes in dates, room type and diving programme.

Political Unrest

If there is any political unrest, military conflict, flight cancellations, or any other risk to customers due to political unrest, then Marine Monkees has the right to cancel vacations to the destination as purchased by you.

In this event, we will re-route your dive package to another destination at no extra cost. However, in these circumstances we are unable to consider this justification for you to cancel your dive package, and will therefore not be able to authorise any refund or compensation in this event.

Liability Release and Assumption of Risk

Marine Monkees can not be held liable for and will not be responsible for personal injuries, property damage, or wrongful death that may occur during activities, as a result of the inherent risks associated with scuba diving or as a result of acts or omissions of other third parties.

Diving requires a certification from a recognised dive agency such as PADI. It is your responsibility that you are suitably qualified, and provide proof of such qualification upon request, to participate in any scuba activities prior to you taking part. Such activities include all activities other than PADI Open Water Diver or Scuba Diver Course, or Discover Scuba Diving activities that allow participants to take part without a license.
