
Pulau Lang Tengah is located in between Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang on the East Coast of Peninsula Malaysia. This away-from-it-all island has a number of beautiful resorts and is fast gaining popularity as a diver's heaven. Coral is still at the perfect condition and marine life is plentiful here.
Visibility are usually great, often up to 30m. If you are looking for deep dive, Pulau Lang Tengah offer great deep dive where some dive site dropping down to 30m with rich marine life such as big shoals of snappers, fusiliers and rabbitfish. Bamboo sharks, turtles and shovel nosed ray have been spotted on occasion around the island. The are a couple of shallow bays ideal for night diving where night-time reef critters are abundant.
Getting There
By Flight - Malaysia Airline or Air Asia fly from from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu. Get a taxi from the airport to the coastal village of Tanjung Merang. It'll take approximately 30 hour from Kuala Terengganu.
Public Transport - Take the express bus from Kuala Lumpur to coastal town of Jerteh and hop on to connecting bus or taxi to the coastal village of Tanjung Merang.
By Road - Drive from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan using the Karak Highway and Kuantan Highway. Once on the truck road follow the direction to Jerteh - Dungun - Kuala Terengganu - Tanjung Merang.
Ferries usually depart in the morning and return at noon. The transfer usually takes about 40 minutes.
Accommodation
Accomodation on Pulau Lang Tengah ranges from the very basic woden A-frame huts to comfortable, private individual chalets with air-conditioning.
