
Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang are two islands located around 70 km off the coast of Mersing. The two islands are in close proximity of sites to dive, from deep trenchers to shallow reefs. Coral formation are pristine due to it's great distance away from the mainland. Diving ranges from rock boulders and submerged reefs to wrecks. The chanels between Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang is rich with coral reefs. If you are lucky, you will be able to catch a glimps of whale shark and manta Ray swimming around the sites of Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang.
Getting There
By Road - make you way to the Ayer Hitam exit on the North South Highway and head toward the town of Kluang. Once on the trunk road, follow the sign towards the coastal town of Mersing.
The ferries typically depart around midnight, travelling through the night to arrive the next morning on the island. The boat transfer from Mersing to Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang takes about 4 hours.
Accommodation
The resorts on the island excel in simplicity and basic amenities. Sleeping quarters are domitory-style and adequate. Electricity is supplied by generators that usually switched off from 9am to 6pm.
